People who lived at Sg Renggam Estate
In 1916, Guy Everard Speldewinde lived at Sungai Renggam Estate, the same place where FW Bulner and family lived (in 1920). They might be friends or relatives.
- 1916: Guy Everard Speldewinde lived at Sungai Renggam Estate. He married Eulie at St Barnabas Church in Klang in 1916.
- 1920: FW Bulner & family lived at Sungai Renggam Estate. FW Bulner's daughter Isabel @ Sheila Bulner was born on 18 May 1920.
This area is hilly with rivers and jungle. The rivers have disappeared but the names have remained. This rubber estate has gone and is now replaced by a residential area comprising terraced single- and double-storeys and shop-houses. The roads are named Jalan Sungai Renggam 32/1,2,3, etc. It forms part of Shah Alam Seksyen 32.
To the north is Lebuhraya Shah Alam and beyond that is Seksyen 7.
To the north-east is Klang.
To the west is Port Klang and beyond that the Straits of Malacca.
To the east is Bukit Kemuning Golf & Country Resort and beyond that is Kota Kemuning.
To the south-east is Thugamalay Estate.
To the south are more residential areas - Kg Batu, Bandar Putera etc.
- Sg Klang cuts through Sungai Renggam
- Sungai Renggam Estate was a rubber and oil palm plantation owned by the British.
- Indian workers worked as rubber tappers on the estate while the Burghers worked as clerks.
- 1962: Sungai Renggam Estate's last year of existence.
- 1963: Sungai Renggam was renamed Shah Alam
