This is my mother Tulip's birth certificate. I've tried my best to read the minute details and the cursive handwriting on the fragile photocopy. She was born on 4 November 1931 at Tanglin Hospital in Kuala Lumpur. She told me she was born a premature baby, and I believed her.
WH Amour had registered her birth 6 days after she was born. Who was he/she? Why didn't her own father register his eldest daughter? Was he working outstation? Where did he work in November 1931? Why did her mother deliver her at this hospital and not the European Hospital? Who was attending to her mother?
This copy of her birth certificate was obtained on 8 December 1931, about a month after she was born.
